What type of wood to use for the outdoor sectional?

I am going to be building the outdoor sectional to use around the pool this summer. This will be my first build. What type of wood should I buy that will be strong and survive the Florida humidity?

Cedar would be ideal, but you'll have to go to the lumber yard to buy it.  I've also had some good luck with southern yellow pine, but you have to make sure there's no knots in the parts you use.  If you're west of the Mississippi it's rather expensive, but east of the Mississippi the better lumber yards will have it and know what it is.

White pine would also work, although isn't quite as tough.

Skip spruce, hemlock and anything marked as generic White Wood or Softwood.  It's not as strong.
