Win a Alaska Dream Vacation to our Cabin!

Submitted by Ana White on Fri, 12/04/2015 - 17:33

Happy Holidays dear friends, family and fellow DIYers!

We have some exciting news to share with you today. Last spring, my family, with the help of friends, DIYed a lakefront cabin in remote Alaska.

It was a huge undertaking to not only build a cabin by hand of this size and quality, but to do it in remote Alaska, hauling everything in by snow mobile, and building without any heavy equipment. It was not easy, especially working remote with a baby, and out in the Alaska elements.

We are so proud of the final result, and excited to share with you that the build process was captured for a special on DIY Network.

Please join us for the premiere of our special, titled Building Off The Grid - Alaska Range on Tuesday December 15th, at 10PM EST on DIYNetwork

We are so thankful for the opportunity to take our love for DIY to the next level, and show the world that family, friends and elbow grease - and lots of wood - can make amazing thing happen!  We know that none of this would ever be possible without your support and encouragement.

It seems every time we talk to someone, one thing comes up that is in common with most everyone: You'd like to come visit us in Alaska and stay at our cabin.  So we decided instead of paying a publicist to promote our show (ratings are a huge factor in whether or not we will have future opportunities on tv), we would rather invest in our readers and make an Alaska Dream Vacation a reality for one family.

I wish we could host everyone, but we simply do not have those means.  But this is what I could make happen for one lucky group of four -

4 Round Trip tickets to Anchorage, Alaska from anywhere Alaska Airlines flies.  Alaska Airlines offers a new flight experience...Alaska BeyondTM with free entertainment, Pacific Northwest inspired food and beverages, plus power in every seat. For their lowest fares guauranteed visit Alaska .

I've been flying with Alaska Airlines for years now, and love the quality of service and low prices that enable me to go to and from Alaska.  Get their fruit and cheese platter - you won't believe it's airplane food.

We appreciate the support - you sharing about the show, however big or small, is a big deal for us.

i applaud wholeheartedly your new "Off the Grid" project! I could only wish it could be me that could win the trip. However, I'm not very savvy when it comes to URLs, etc. so don't know if I did it correctly! I just hope I'm entered so I have a chance to visit my birthplace!

Hi Ana, I really enjoyed you guys show tonight.  I was stationed at Fort Greely for 2.5 years, from 1987 - 1990, and at Ft. Wainwright for another 2.5 years.  I have also been fishing at Paxson Lake before.  My time there in Alaska are some of my most memorable moments in life.  Happy for you guys bringing the Alaskan paradise to the DIY network.
