"Reclaimed" Wood Queen Bed

Newest Video! I love creating, here's what I'm up to!

I knew I wanted to build us a nice comfy bed, I saw the plans for this one and knew it was "the one". It took an afternoon to cut and build the individual pieces, but then of course juggling kids and a husband, it's always a little trickier to find the time to get it stained and finished.
My hubby and I had every intention last night to get it put together. But as we were sitting on the couch just chilling while we waited for our youngest to fall asleep, his work phone rang and out the door he went. So, before he left, he helped me bring both pieces in from the garage so I could get it done. (they are on the heavy side and I was fairly certain I couldn't do the stairs by myself)
Finally at 9:30 my little guy gave in to sleep, and I got to working! And by 11:30 I was cleaning up. The side tables to match are in the works, I just have to decide if I want drawers or doors.

Love it! I'm actually getting ready to start this project myself, I was surprised that no one had posted a 'whole bed' version yet. Beautiful work, thanks for sharing!

Very pretty, I love that you took a headboard, and used that inspiration for an entire bed! It looks fantastic

We made the headboard and are getting ready to start the foot boad. How were you able to attach the side rails without being able to see the bolt or nut from the outside of the foot board?
