My Projects

My To-Do List

I am a mother of three. I was a registered nurse until I was in a car accident 5 years ago and ended up with a brain injury that left me with neurological problems. I was always into crafts but boredom set in fast and I am a worker. My husband was redoing a triplex and I started helping him and learned how to use the tools, started collecting lath and the old 2x4s we pulled old and built a table. Then another, and some pictures, and another table. And then a doll bed for my daughters American girl dolls. For Christmas that year we were broke from me not working and we decided to build them more doll furniture. We found your site. We ended up building an entire room for our middle daughter matching doll beds too. Lol. I found a new passion. : ). We recently just moved and I am now building a deck onto our new house out of reclaimed pallets and a bridge to go over a stump out back, and what should have cost $1,000s is costing a few 100. I would not know what I would have done with myself had I not found this. It has helped me learn a trade that most women are not taught and it has made it easy for me. (Well easier. There is still so much I can't do. And a lot of my projects are a flop. Lol. Brain damage leaves me inverting numbers and forgetting things way too much. Lol). But it is fun and exciting and I have three girls that are out helping and learning and seeing that building isn't just for guys.
