I am wanting to get a good sander. From what I've read I should get a random orbit sander. What size and brand? I'd prefer to buy a better one now rather than be frustrated and turn around and buy another in the next year. Any suggestions?
I purchased a Bosch sander from Lowe's and have been happy with it. If I remember correctly, it cost about $50. If possible, I would try going to a couple of home improvement stores and seeing how the sanders feel in your hand. The reason I picked the Bosch was because it seemed to be the most comfortable to use for my wife and I.
That having been said, I think that if I had purchased any of the sanders at Lowe's I probably would have been happy performance wise with them. I've had mine for about a year or so and have been very happy with it.
