I just built my first shelving unit out of barn wood. I power washed it with a lightweight power washer, but now the wood just stinks & doesn't seem a whole lot cleaner. Any ideas? I'm trying to avoid sanding. I use to buy all my wood, but working with freebies, I wonder if you worry about how warped the barn wood is? My shelves are "somewhat" level...should Have planed the underneath side?
