I have had a few people ask me to make them the Twin Farm House bed. I have made several of the toddler beds. Of course those are easier because of the smaller scale. I have looked at every single brag post for hints and ideas. I need the side rails to be removable. I already have brackets from rockler.
A few questions I can't find the answer---the the rockler brackets interfere with the cleats? I am not sure if I'll be using a box spring or not. I was thinking I could still keep the footboard cleat and not have it look too bad. But the headboard cleat would have to go.
If no box spring whats the best way to attach the cleats besides screwing them in? I am thinking the beds will be moved often.
Finally I can't find untreated 4x4 posts, does 2 2x4's look bad? I don't remember seeing a bed made that way.
