We have built the main box of the Compartment Depot Bookshelf, http://ana-white.com/2013/03/plans/compartment-depot-bookshelf but used plywood instead of 12" lumber.
Now that it's deeper and heavier, I'm not thrilled about supporting it off the floor by tacking 1x3's to the front and back.
I'm considering removing the bottom, shortening the divider, and trimming out the bottom as shown in the recent 3 Drawer Open Shelf Simple Entryway Console. http://ana-white.com/2014/01/plans/3-drawer-open-shelf-simple-entryway-…
That way, the weight rests on the two vertical side pieces.
I suppose another option is to buy (or make?) some sort of bun feet for it.
Any other ideas that will support the weight better? Thanks!
