My husband and I wanted a pretty huge farmhouse table for our actual farmhouse! ;D So we built this table our of solid maple. The Husky table legs we ordered in "hard maple" from Osborne. This table is 42" x 107.5". We affixed the long planks with pocket hole screws, and glued them together. The 2in breadboards were attached with glue and bisquit joints. And the legs were attached using pocket holes.

Estimated Cost
In Canadian dollars we spent around $1,000 for everything.
Estimated Time Investment
Week Long Project (20 Hours or More)
Type of Wood
Hard Maple
Finish Used
Finishing is with Saman stain in "Walnut" roughed up the stain with my palm sander and then put on 3 coats of Annie Sloan white soft wax.
I was not totally pleased with the durability of the wax so sanded down and put on a water based (non yellowing) matte finish.
