We are a husband and wife team in our late 20s who have recently (2013) gotten into carpentry and crafting. We both have carpentry in our blood though. Andrew's father and grandfather were carpenters by trade. One of Heidi's grandfather's was a furniture framer. The other grandfather as well as uncles tackled carpentry as a life-long hobby.
Carpentry started out for us as projects for Andrew to do. He enjoys repurposing old pallets. Heidi joined in September 2013. Since then we have built together a storage sofa, farmhouse dining table, 2 farmhouse benches, a dining room chair, and nearly all our nursery furniture for our first child. When we found out we were expecting in January 2014, we decided to accomplish the impossible or so it seemed. We wanted to build our nursery. This included a dresser that serves as a changing table, a closet organization system, a barn bookshelf, a nightstand, and a crib. The only thing not hand built in the nursery is our glider rocker.
