I was inspired by this stool here: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/329418867/Wooden_chair/showimage.html… It would be a great addition to a kid's room. Need a time out stool? This would work for that, too! Maybe even a foot stool for bigger peoples!
And there are SO many ways to customize this. Paint in colors to match decor. Add the child's name. Add fringe!
And it's super easy and super cheap! I'm not sure how much a precut circle is, exactly, but you can get a 3/4 In. 2 Ft. x 4 Ft. MDF Handy Panel from orange for @ $12 and get 3 seat tops out of one, so that would make it about $3.77 for the top and about $1.50 for the furring strip!
There are so many possibilities with this stool! Let your creative juices flow and don't forget about birthday parties or Christmas - these would make an excellent gift!

Preparation
6' 1" x 2" Furring Strip
12" or 15" precut MDF circle
4 - 1" x 2" Furring Strip @ 11 1/4"
4 - 1" x 2" Furring Strip @ 5"
1 - 15" precut MDF circle (12" will work fine, too)
Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. Good luck!
