Hi everyone!!!

Do you like making snowflakes?  Folding the paper up into a triangle shape, then cutting out, and seeing what you get?

Call me a kid at heart, but it never gets old for me!  It's amazing what a few little snips can do to a piece of paper.

So that's why I'm giddy excited about today's project!  Not only is it a snowflake, but it is cut from wood!!!  And just like the paper snowflakes that you create and no two are alike, you can do the same with this one!!!

Of course, there is a free pattern that you can download for this exact design, or you could take the pattern, cut out any design that you like, and see what you come up with!!!

When I did this project for Ryobi Nation, a member of the crew showed it to his wife and she requested eight of them!!!  Eight!  And since I designed this project to fit on a 24" x 24" piece of 1/2" thick plywood - that means eight of these could be made from one sheet of plywood!  The project was so popular, another Ryboi crew member went and made one for herself!  It makes me so happy creating projects that are useful and loved!

So I know you are going to want to make this for a friend ... or maybe even yourself :) so I have a challenge for you!

  1. Make it! Make your own custom wood snowflake - you can customize by altering the pattern, the finish, or the monogram or even the size.  Just make it, and make it your own!
  2. Share it! Share a photo on social media using hashtags #wooditsnow #anawhite #ryobination
  3. Win It! We will pick five winners, who will receive a prize package from me, including my autographed book, one of my t-shirts, and a Ryobi compact bluetooth stereo, so you can blast the Christmas music while you build!  Winners will be annouced on December 2, 2015.  Entries are open until December 1, 2015.

Please remember the hashtags #wooditsnow #anawhite #ryobination so we can find your project!!!

This is going to be so much fun!

Here's how to make it -

Go get the plans and template over at Ryobi Nation right now, and start building!

Can't wait to see your snowflakes!

XO Ana

Did you also do the trees? Those are so friggin' cool!! Thinking that my girls' teachers need one (and I can't give them all the SAME snowflake, now can I?!) ;)

Awesome, as always, Ana!

Lowes and Home Depot sell 2x2 panels but they aren't exactly 24"...more like 23 7/8"  Is that what you used?  Or did you rip to exaclty 24"?
