modern diy coat tree from broomsticks and concrete - tutorial from ana-white.com

This is, without debate, more stylish than your treadmill.

I'm of course talking about a coat rack.

Toliy made this for his sister's wedding.

It's just 5 broomsticks and a bag of redi-mix concrete.

For this base, 30 pounds (or half of a 60 pound bag) was used.

Mix the concrete with water.

Place the broomsticks in the wet concrete and secure in place as desired.  Cardboard can also be used to hold the broomsticks in place while the concrete cures.

Now wait for the concrete to cure.

Remove the bucket (ours had to be cut off so use a bucket you may have to part ways with), and enjoy your coat tree.

Get two buckets ... grease one of them and pour the mixed concrete into it.

Wash the mixing bucket. When the concrete sets, you should be able to pull the coat tree out.

Love this!!!!!!!
Just one practical question - Does it stay standing when you hang an Alaska Winter coat on it? How 'bout Carhartt insulated overalls? Or should this just be used for guest coats?
