I'm really excited to make a farmhouse bed (with a couple modifications), but I'm not sure how to attach the frame to the headboard and footboard securely without using woodglue, etc. I don't want to do that because, of course, I want to be able to move the bed from time to time! What have others done? I was considering using larger Z brackets, but I'm not sure if they come in the correct size, etc. Thanks for any tips!

There are metal "bed brackets" that attach to the headboard, footboard, and to the side rails. That way you can take it apart to move, and not weaken the joints.
