wold bookcase

i would love any ideas on how to make this happen in my own house!!Im getting that its different peices of recycled furniture stuck together somehow.... but i dont understand the balance!! anyways, here is the link to the original post, where i first saw it and the link to the artists post

The second post says that it is anchored to the wall to keep it from tipping to one side.  It was too large to be carried in so it had to be assembled in place.  The hardest part of this project would be the designing a layout and keeping the visual proportions balanced.

Interesting. There is a coffee shop near me with a similar piece.

 

Starting with the old buffet at the bottom ... it looks like they started screwing small bookcases, boxes, and drawer units to the wall studs. The two shelves may be holding up spome of the stuff.

 

Doing is easy ... planning would be hard.I would start by making paper outlines of the pieces I had in mind, or even cardboard mock-ups, and taping them to the wall until it felt "balanced". Then start replacing paper with the real thing.

yeah i went back and read the original post again and it gave me a bit more hope... now if i could just find peices to make this :D
