I'm new to the site and this is our first project. We are building the farmhouse king size bed but we want the storage drawers under it like on the queen. My question is how do we adjust the measurements? Any help or tips on this project would be appreciated!

Two options
One is to adjust the drawer size to fit under the king. The alternative is to adjust the bed to fit over the drawers.
Of the two, I would choose to adjust the drawers, because I build drawers by fitting the drawer to the available opening. Rather than wasting time with a tape measure or ruler, I just measure directly off the piece, which gives a perfect fit every time.
If you grab one of Tage Frid's books on furniture building (your library probably has them), he discusses it, complete with lots of easy to understand pictures. I think it's in his furniture design book (book 3 of Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking), but it could be in his joinery book (book 1).
