Play kitchen Stove Knobs - how to click when turned?
How can I make the stove knobs make a clicking sound when they are turned?I bought some Range Kleen universal gas knobs to use on the stove. Thanks in advance!
The best solution would be to salvage the knob mechanism from an old stove. You might have some luck at a junk yard. Might not be very cheap though.
The alternative would be to make a stiff metal ring with a small crimp at each point there should be a click, and a mechanism attached to the knob that rides on that ring and pushes some kind of bar into that crimp.
You might also be able to buy a multi-position rotary switch from someplace like Radio Shack, and use that under the knob. Biggest problem would be matching shaft sizes. One of the advantages there is the ability to match knob position with a light on the stove panel, if you're moderately handy with electrical. A small cheap set of LED christmas lights could provide the lights.
