Bunkbeds with storage underneath & stairs

We are going to be moving soon into my husband's grandmother's 1940's house.  The living space is GREAT!  Bedroom space...itty bitty.  We were wanting to make the bunkbeds for our daughter's room, but wondering if we can modify the bottom bunk for storage (as seen here http://ana-white.com/2011/02/f.....e-bed.html) and, (because I'm neurotic;) I'd like to use the stairs shown on the loft bed here (http://dev.ana-white.com/acqui.....age-stairs) instead of a ladder.  Are there any special modifications that we should make, or can we just kind of "meld" the 3 plans together?  Thanks so much!!

The only thing I can think of is that you might make sure the bottom bunk has enough room if you're adding storage under it. You probably just need to maintain the specified spacing between bunks, and you'll be fine. As for other modifications, it might depend on where your stairs come up. You might need to adjust the headboard if that's where the stairs end.

And just so you know you're not alone, I'm looking at merging the regular loft bed base, the playhouse loft bed rails, and the loft bed stairs... only I'm moving the stairs to come up along the length of the bed, and hopefully will make the stairs also be some sort of dresser. Luckily, I have a friend who does woodworking as a serious hobby, and he's offered to help me along the way.
