My wife and i built the fancy farmhouse king bed. We where amazed how well it came out. The only problem i have is it seems the head board is flimsy. Is there a way to make it more solid? I am using 4 4.5 inch bolts, half inch in diameter. Its solid where its connected, but it seems it sways a few inches at the top. Thanks for any help in advance. Bought the wood to make the night stand now. We love this site.

Flimsy Farmhouse headboard
I built the simple version of this bed as my first project. I could hit it with a semi and the truck wouldn't survive. It is incredibly solid and doesn't move at all. I used pocket screws for everything. I put 4 3/8x5" bolts where the frame connects to the headboard but it didn't need it. It is hard to say what would strengthen the bed without seeing it or knowing how you put it together. Did you use any pocket holes/screws for the project?
