General Instructions

Sand cut boards with 120 grit sanding block.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the tabletop boards.

Lay together and measure the width.  If the width does not match the diagram, you will need to adjust some 2x2 cuts - this is detailed in the cut list.

If you have a pocket hole jig, join the two 1x8 boards together first.

Step 2

Build two of the frames as shown in the diagram.

Step 3

Cut the remaining frame pieces, 3" shorter than the width of the tabletop.

Attach together to assemble the frame.

Let dry on a flat level surface.

Fill screw holes with wood filler and let dry.

Sand well.

TIP: For a two tone finish, apply paint or stain to frame at this stage.  Leave top edges raw, so the glue can bond with the underside of the tabletop.

Step 4

Apply glue and set tabletop on frame. Attach with 1-1/4" brad nails or 1-5/8" trim screws.

Fill holes with wood filler and sand off after dry.  Finish the tabletop.
