Hi! From a Properties Master in Washington DC!

Hello! First of all, I'm EXCITED to be joining the community! I've been reading Ana's site for a few months now, and I'm a huge fan!

A little about me, I'm a 24 year old female Properties Master for a childrens theatre in Washington DC. I've always been handy with the power tools, and even went to school for technical theatre. My parents used to find it odd that I wanted steel toe boots and a new speed square for Christmas or my birthday, but now they're used to it. So, for a living I paint, sew, research, shop, construct and build things, mold & model, paper mache like a fiend, and essentially make things from drawings from crazy designers. Yup, its a neat job. Of course, its in the arts and non-profit so you can bet I don't make a lot doing it! But it beats an "office" job anyday. Oh, I also garden and have two adorable hosue rabbits, and am fond of making homemade bread.

What attracts me to Anas site are the incredible projects I'm capable of building, for cheap ('cuz I'm on the tightest budget there is!) using tools my workshop already has (anything with the word "saw" in it, I can use. And well.) and she's already done my cut list! See, I can draft using AutoCAD but the main reason why I don't build things for myself it that it takes a lot of time and energy to figure out how to design it, draft it, make a cut list after figuring out board feet, etc. At the end of the day I'm TIRED of working on other peoples ideas but I'm also too tired to work on my own. Now, Ana's done all the work so the building is a cinch! It's incredible! I can have the home I want at a price I can afford. Especially designs based on ones in fancy stores, that will look great in my little urban house.
