Iwould like to build a baby gate (actually a couple) to put at the top and bottom of our stairs. I don't want to deal with plastic spring loaded ones like I did with my first two kids. I would really like a solid wood gate that hinged. PLUS I would really like to build one for the top of our deck stairs too so it would be nice to have a wood baby gate so I could stain it to match the deck.

I saw this awhile back and thought it might come in handy some day. I'm not sure I'd use the same materials, but even with lath/wood, the same principle might work.
