I love working on crafts and carpentry has been on my do-to list for a while now. I have made cakes, balloon decorations, painted characters for my girls birthday parties, and this has been on my mind for a while. I knew I needed some guidance and I was very interested in finding courses at Lowes or Home Depot. My biggest push was wanting a custom closet for my girls; since I have another on the way (5 months pregnant). I received a quote for the Container Store and it was going to cost me a pretty penny, over 900 to be exact. I left it at that and put it on my back burner since now I have to consider saving for my new addition. Gladly, my co-worker and dearest friend, Andrea kept me in the loop about a website of DIY furniture. At first, I was a little skeptical because my mom used to make furniture as well but sadly she had no good taste that I really hated the fact that she made our furniture. I was young and wanted the in-style things 'hense Ikea'. The more she talked about it, the more I could see my inspiration to build what I truly wanted. And so, after reading and reading, I am hooked and I have started my girls closet and its completely empty and freshly painted. I ordered my Kregg Jig and it should come in the mail this week. I borrow a Miter Saw and I'm really to roll! I can't wait to practice and show you my first piece. Thanks Ana!
