Hi All!
I am working through my beginner build projects and I am getting ready to tackle the Outdoor Bench.
I am unsure if I should just build it then stain or Stain first?
I would greatly appreciate any suggesstions and learning experiences to pass on??

Cut, then stain
Cut your pieces to final size, do your sanding/scraping/planing, then stain, then assemble. Skip the stain step on any pieces which must be glued.

why do you skip staining if
why do you skip staining if youre going to glue it?

The Stain
You don't want any finish on two pieces that will be glued together. The glue is designed to adhere to wood. If it's applied to paint or stain, that's what it will bond to instead, which isn't your best structural bond.
