Arsenic toxicity from Pressure Treated wood.

I just wanted to caution everyone about using reclaimed pressure treated lumber. I know people have mentioned this before but I actually got sick from it. I've been really sick for 6-7 months with all kinds of weird symptoms. I've had all kinds of blood work and scans. I even thought maybe I was allergic to pine. Finally I did some heavy metal test and found I had arsenic toxicity. I had gotten a bunch of pressure treated wood from my neighbors old deck that they had pulled up. I'd also used some pallets to make stuff. I was trying to save some money by using free wood and spent thousands on doctors. I also never used a mask. I was told some people are more effected than others by it.
I just wanted to make sure no one else goes through what I went through. It's been horrible.

Don't know if it's true outside of Michigan, but here you're assured of a certain amount of arsenic in the water. Makes us more resistant apparently.

In any event, sorry to hear you got sick. And just to be safe, always slip some of your food to the dog first.

my husband worked for a lumber yard years ago and when people would buy treated lumber they always handed out a paper warning of arsenic in the wood, and that it was more for keeping pests away then using outdoors for weather, my husband built a shed with it about 14 years ago and to this day NO MICE!

I can get the no-mice effect without using pressure treated wood. I just installed cats. No mice in the shed, no mice in the garage, no mice in the house. At least, not live mice.

You are funny I always enjoy reading your comments, but I prefer treated wood to cats! they remind me of my mother inlaw untrust worthy, you better jump when called and stay away otherwise!
